Most website owners don’t realize the importance of internal linking and SEO. Internal linking can increase traffic in websites generating huge profits.

The Importance Of Internal Linking

Links are one of the major factors over all when it comes to getting ranked well in search engines. Anchor text in general will help to define relevant for a page. External links in to your site have more importance then internal links. That doesn’t mean that you should neglect having your site link internally though. Know how to creatively cross-link your site internally to maximize link juice and page rank flow.

The best time to add links is on other related pages or blog posts. This helps to give more importance based on surrounding text within your site. To top it off you need to apply just the right anchor text that is related to your current page and the source page. So if you were linking to another page in your site about pointing your visitors at the content you would do just that. Equally you would assume the article is about getting visitors to direct their attention at your content.

Internal Linking

Making sure that your internal linking helps your visitors to find the content on your site is very important. Using relevant copy throughout your site will tell visitors more effectively what to expect on the corresponding page. You do want to make sure that on pages you don’t want to rank in Google that you add a no-follow tag to ensure that the ranking flow of your site corresponds with your site’s topic and interests. No one is going to be searching Google to find out what your terms of service or privacy policy are.

If you are a blogger and are trying to setup your site to have appropriate internal linking for search engine optimization and are using WordPress. The best option for you is to use the related articles plugin which will determine what possible related articles to your current articles would be. This plugin is very handy and is a must for those people that have WordPress.

Banner Links

Have you ever observed banners of advertisements in other websites in the internet? These are what we call banner links, and banner linking is another popular technique of increasing website traffic. By creating a banner with an advertisement on it, you can place it in other websites so that visitors who are able to view the advertisement can click it anytime whenever they are interested. Once they click the banner, they will be brought to your homepage immediately. Create a Link to Us page. Online users love links with lots of keyword text and logos, so this can easily attract them to your website and link to you.

Pay per click, otherwise known as PPC, has become a well used online marketing tool by many businesses. It has much scope for marketing potential and it is important to understand the basics, especially if you are new to it and looking to incorporate it into your overall marketing campaign.

Pay Per Click – Where to Start

The first thing you need to do is to open up an account with a search engine of your choice. Many opt to go for Google initially due to it being the most prominent search engine around. However, this is not to say you need only choose one. You can opt to use pay per click on more than one search engine. However, if you are still finding your feet with pay per click, then it is wise to start with one and gain an understanding of the specifics involved. Once you have opened up an account with a search engine, your next step is finding the right keywords that will apply directly to what you are selling. If you are selling shoes for example, you might want to use ‘shoes’, ‘stylish shoes’ or ‘bargain shoes’. Once you have chosen your keywords, then you need to decide how much are will to pay, or bid for you ad. Now your advert is ready to be launched!

Pay per click – How it Works

Whenever a user types keywords into a search engine, a results page comes up, known as SERP (search engine results page). Within these results pages, adverts are also displayed that are relevant to the keywords the user typed in initially. If a user clicks on an advert within these SERP, then the advertiser of that particular advert will be charged the amount they specified in the beginning. Therefore, choosing your keywords and the amount you wish to pay or bid, will directly influence when and where it will be displayed on the search engine results page. Due to the advancement of technology, pay per click can be implemented and tracked on a much wider scale. We are now about to analyze how affective it is as a marketing tool by looking at how it has impacted traffic and business sales both online as well as offline.

Pay per click – tracking the results

It is important to be able to measure the results of any marketing tool, and in this case pay per click. As a business you need to know if the marketing plans you have put into place are proving to be effective or not. There are many programs on the market that allow a business to track any interactions they have online. This includes any traffic that goes through your website, where they have clicked on to get there and where they navigate to in your website. It is important to understand where your buyers have come from and the process they went through in order to make a purchase.

There are many elements involved in pay per click that play a part in making it a success. This article has looked at the pay per click back to basics, helping you understand the fundamentals of this marketing tool. Once you start gaining knowledge about this form of online marketing, you will begin to understand how it can become a valuable asset in increasing business sales.

Pay per click advertising and facebook adverts are becoming more and more introduced by businesses into their overall marketing campaign. The potential and effectiveness in increasing business traffic with these particular online marketing tool sis well established. Another great advantage to these tools is that they are open and available to any business of any size. However, there is skilled involved when implementing both these marketing tools successfully. In this article we discuss Google pay per click advertising versus facebook adverts and how they work together.

Google pay per click advertising over facebook adverts

Google pay per click advertising targets a different audience with different intentions compared to facebook adverts. Pay per click advertising helps to pick out users who are actively searching for things to buy – i.e. they are searching from a customer’s point of view, looking for the right product or service to buy. Once experimenting with different keywords, as the advertiser you can judge how best to connect with your target market. Using pay per click narrows down the type of people who will be exposed to your website quite significantly. Only those users who are actively searching for Italian restaurants in Cape Town for example will be exposed to adverts displaying specifically Italian restaurants in Cape Town. Essentially, pay per click advertising is very specific and your advert will only be exposed to those people who are actively searching using the keywords you have chosen. So while this will drastically reduce the number of people exposed to your idea, the idea is to increase the quality of each potential customer being made aware of what you have to offer.

Facebook adverts over Google pay per click Advertising

Now we will focus on Facebook adverts. These could be considered as being on the flip side of Google pay per click advertising. Whilst pay per click as an advertising tool targets a very specific audience who are consciously looking to buy, facebook users however are on a different level. Whilst you can target audiences on facebook by their personality, likes and dislikes, you won’t be reaching customers that are actively looking to buy anything. However, this is not to say that this is not an effective marketing strategy. Even if a small percentage of people click through via your advert, they are what counts and as you are only paying per click it can still be a cost-effective way to expose your product and services to different demographics. Even if users are not actively searching to buy, if exposed to an advert of interest this can quickly change.

Incorporating both pay per click advertising and facebook adverts in your overall online marketing plan can help to yield successful results. They would well together, as they cover a broader potential customer base when used in conjunction. So while you might mull over using Google pay per click versus facebook adverts or visa versa, you might want to consider using both together for increased marketing success.

Pay per click advertising can become an effective marketing tool for any business. Many larger organizations and companies use pay per click to their advantage – encouraging an influx of traffic to their website. However, larger businesses have the benefit of using the marketing skills from their employees – and will have more than one skilled person to ensure that their pay per click advert is generating desired results. For a smaller business, it can be more difficult to know what to look out for when it comes to pay per click advertising, especially if you are new to this form of online marketing. What is important is not to give up, learn from your mistakes and continue to enhance your pay per click techniques. There are many aspects to consider with this form of advertising and any one element can hinder successful results. In this article we look at how a small business can use pay per click advertising, and what to look out for.

How a Small Business Can Use Pay Per Click Advertising – using the right keywords

Using the right keywords is key not only to ensure that your advert gets displayed prominently on search engine results page, but also so that your cost per click is not through the roof. Look for keywords that are not as broad or generic – these keywords end up being pretty pricey when it comes to bidding for them. Use more specific narrowly targeted keywords will mean lower bidding costs as well as targeting more specifically the right people.. Consider the aspects of your product or service you are advertising and come up with words that directly relate to it. If you are advertising cards for example, then use more specific terminology such as birthday cards, Valentine’s Day cards etc. One way to do this is to incorporate the location of your business within your keywords to attract customers from that area.

How a Small Business Can Use Pay Per Click Advertising – analyze your marketing results

Focusing on your click through rate (CTR) is important, but is certainly not indicative of how successful your pay per click advertising campaign is. Although the CRT will indicate how often people click through, and hence how costly your campaign is, it does not mean that this is generating the most sales. What happens once a user clicks through to your website? It is important to be able to track past your CRT, and assess where your paying customers are coming from and where they click through to gain access to your products or services.

How a Small Business Can Use Pay Per Click Advertising – perseverance

It can be challenging getting pay per click right as there is so much information to interpret in order to know how to optimize your pay per click adverts. Therefore, if you are not generating the desired results it could be due to you not optimizing your pay per click rather than it being an ineffective online marketing tool.

These are some tips on how a small business can use pay per click advertising to their benefit. Perseverance and understanding one’s market is the key to its success.

When businesses decide to incorporate pay per click advertising, they do in fact have a number of choices open to them when it comes to choosing a search engine. While you might here the term Adwords spoken frequently due to the popularity of using Google for pay per click campaigns, there are other search engines worth considering as well. One such search engine is Yahoo. Yahoo also has a useful and effective search marketing tool known as Overture, to help increase traffic and awareness to a businesses’ website. It is important to remember that while Google hold the majority of users, Yahoo still has a pretty solid user base and can certainly be effective in helping businesses’ drive traffic towards their website. We will look at some of the differences between Google Adwords and Yahoo’s Overture for pay per click advertising, to help you make an informed decision.

Differences between Google Adwords and Yahoo’s Overture for Pay Per Click Advertising – geographical factors

Google covers such a wide base internationally, that when you are targeting people in a specific location, you need to be very specific in your keywords, in order to generate the right target audience. Yahoo however, is more geared towards the USA and Canada, so if those are your target areas, then you will most likely yield more successful results in terms of high quality customers while not having the need to be as specific with your keywords.

Differences between Google Adwords and Yahoo’s Overture for Pay Per Click Advertising – quality of adverts

By default and unlike Google, Overture forces advertisers to create new adverts for each keyword that they bid for. This means that their ads will have higher quality content and advertisers will be more aware of the details pertaining to successful pay per click advertising. Such as a very common mistake that many businesses do, is the landing page that customers see when they click on an advert. Many use their home page as the landing page, whereas it should be the page that directly applies to the advert in question. By being forced to design new adverts per keyword, advertisers will be more aware to link them to the appropriate page.

Differences between Google Adwords and Yahoo’s Overture for Pay Per Click Advertising – language

Google is viewed, and accurately so, as being more internationally sound when compared to Google. One reason for this statement is that Google incorporates multiple languages, whereas Yahoo is in English alone. There when using Google for your pay per click advertising, you have to be careful to be very specific about the keyword you choose so that it does not overlap with other languages and you generate a response from the right users. Using Overture may be somewhat easier in this light as there is not the added complexity of ensuring your word does not overlap into another language.

These are some of the differences between Google Adwords and Yahoo’s Overture for pay per click advertising. It is important to be aware of how they differ from each other so that you can make the right choices for your marketing needs.

Pay per click advertising is a well known and implemented marketing tool. However, its popularity is not in direct proportion to it being easy to implement. There is a combination of skills as well as the nature of pay per click advertising that makes it an effective and sought after online marketing tool. However, if you are a beginner to this new way of advertising online, or are still finding your feet – one way to learn is from other people’s mistakes as well as your own. Pay per click advertising while having its cost-effective advantages due to the advertiser being in control of how much he/she decides to spend, mistakes can also lead to valuable time and money being lost. Therefore, we list some of the more common pay per click advertising mistakes made by businesses in the past to help you make the most out of your pay per click marketing campaign.

Common Pay Per Click Advertising Mistakes – don’t just bid for the top position

Many businesses have a tendency to go right after the most sought after position on a search engine’s results page. However, this can mean bidding substantially more per click, than say the second or third position. Be savvy when you are bidding – second and third position may be effective enough while being able to pay significantly less per click.

Common Pay Per Click Advertising Mistakes – don’t put all your eggs in one basket

Don’t make the mistake of using up your budget on one search engine. While using Google has its obvious advantages, don’t overlook the potential other search engines may have. Spread out your budget across more than one, and your money may go further. While some pay per click advertising program may have less exposure, the bidding rates will be much lower.

Common Pay Per Click Advertising Mistakes – don’t use your home page as your landing page

Whatever service or product you are advertising, be sure that your pay per click advert links directly onto the appropriate page within your website and not your home page. You want to make the buying process for potential customers as easy as possible. If you are advertising beachwear for example, don’t take your customers through to your home page where they have to then navigate through to your beachwear page themselves. This can cause some to get frustrated and give up.

Common Pay Per Click Advertising Mistakes – be choosy with your keywords

The more popular keywords and search terms will cost more for a pay per click advertiser, especially if they are seeking a top position on the search engine results page. Don’t be too hasty in using these popular terms, without first researching other words and phrases that may not be as popular but could generate just as much traffic with the bonus of paying less per click.

These are some of the more common pay per click advertising mistakes to look for when initiating your own pay per click marketing campaign. Good luck!
